Tim O’Leary is an engineering professional in the Houston Area. He joined the Houston Bears in 2024 to find a community and is excited to serve on the Board as the President. When not working with the Houston Bears he enjoys trying new restaurants, hiking around Memorial Park, going camping, and playing video games.

Christopher Smith is an English Tutor and has published fiction in a couple of gay literary anthologies. He spends most of his time with his head in a book, or scribbling on paper, or watching movies–sometimes imagining himself as Mr. Fantastic–alongside his bf, Oscar Salinas.

John is a Texas CPA and works as a financial systems implementer. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his husband, Jorge Olivares, and working on home automation.

Jorge Olivares has been part of the Houston Bears community for the past four years and he is honored to serve on the Board for a second year. He is a Pup, happily married to John Nolan who he met at one of the group’s events.

Hey there! Call me Andy, I’m 34 and I’m a proud Aries. I’ve spent six years helping produce events in the music industry, and now I get to put that experience toward creating welcoming, joy filled spaces for the LGBTQ+ community. Something I truly love and stand by is seeing people live in their happiest moments. Events are my way of sharing that.

As a bear lover, leather lover, and everything else in between, Oscar (classified as a cute cub) has been dipping his toes in the LGBTQIA+ Houston scene for some time now. Outside of working his many jobs, you can find Oscar working or participating at other community events and studying to become a X-Ray tech. In his free time, Oscar enjoys working out at the gym, exploring the many mysteries of Downtown, and spending time with his best friend Andy (Event Director) because he somehow always find his way back to him. He would would like to thank his bf, Christopher Smith, for encouraging him to be a part of the board and offering head and chin scratches too.
